ABSTRACT

Identificar a percepção dos profissionais de enfermagem sobre o manejo de reação infusional imediata a antineoplásicos. Método: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo de caráter exploratório com abordagem qualitativa realizado em um hospital no Rio Grande do Sul. Resultados: Todos os participantes afirmaram saber identificar uma reação infusional. Após a identificação da reação, nota-se que a maioria obedeceu a uma ordem de condutas a serem realizadas. Quanto aos cuidados para prevenção das reações infusionais, a maioria dos participantes mencionou a administração de medicamentos pré-quimioterápicos, como antialérgicos e antieméticos. Conclusão: Os achados demonstram que a maioria dos profissionais sabe reconhecer e manejar, porém há a necessidade de treinamentos e padronização das ações.(AU)


To identify the perception of nursing professionals about the management of immediate infusion reactions to antineoplastic drugs. Method: This is a descriptive, exploratory study with a qualitative approach carried out in a hospital in Rio Grande do Sul. Results: All the participants said they knew how to identify an infusion reaction. After identifying the reaction, it was noted that the majority followed an order of conduct to be carried out. As for precautions to prevent infusion reactions, most of the participants mentioned the administration of pre-chemotherapy drugs, such as anti-allergic and anti-emetic drugs. Conclusion: The findings show that most professionals know how to recognize and manage them, but there is a need for training and standardization of actions.(AU)


Identificar la percepción de los profesionales de enfermería sobre el manejo de las reacciones infusionales inmediatas a medicamentos antineoplásicos. Método: Se trata de un estudio descriptivo, exploratorio, con abordaje cualitativo, realizado en un hospital de Rio Grande do Sul. Resultados: Todos los participantes afirmaron saber identificar una reacción a la infusión. Después de identificar la reacción, la mayoría siguió un orden de conducta. En cuanto a las precauciones para prevenir las reacciones a la infusión, la mayoría de los participantes mencionó la administración de fármacos prequimioterápicos, como antialérgicos y antieméticos. Conclusión: Los hallazgos muestran que la mayoría de los profesionales saben reconocerlas y manejarlas, pero es necesaria la formación y la estandarización de actuaciones.(AU)

Introducción. La parada cardiorrespiratoria consiste en la interrupción brusca, inesperada y potencialmente reversible de la respiración y circulación espontánea. Representa el extremo más grave de situaciones de emergencia con elevadas tasas de mortalidad. Objetivo. Determinar el nivel de conocimiento acerca de reanimación cardiopulmonar (RCP) en el personal de enfermería de las especialidades troncales del Hospital Nacional de Itauguá en julio de 2023.Materiales y métodos. Estudio observacional descriptivo y analítico en el que se incluyó al personal de enfermería de las especialidades troncales del Hospital Nacional de Itauguá enjulio de 2023. Las variables estudiadas fueron sexo, edad, especialidad troncal y nivel de conocimientos en RCP. Se utilizó el cuestionario de conocimientos para enfermeros sobre reanimación cardio-pulmonar. Para la comparación de conocimientos entre las especialidades se utilizó la prueba chi cuadrado a un nivel de significancia de 0,05. Resultados. Se incluyeron 122enfermeros/as, 36de ginecología/obstetricia, 33 de medicina interna, 30 de pediatría y 23 de cirugía general. La edad media fue 37,63 ± 7,75 años, 69,7% de sexo femenino y 54,9% del departamento Central. El puntaje promedio global fue 5,55±2,72,significativamente (p = 0,001)mayor en la especialidad de cirugía general (6,61±2,39) comparado a la de pediatría (3,40±2,59). El nivel de conocimientos fue insuficiente en el 56,6%de los participantes, 83% de la especialidad de pediatría y 43,5% de cirugía general. Conclusión. El nivel de conocimiento del personal de enfermería sobre reanimación cardiopulmonar es deficiente y sobre todo en la especialidad de pediatría. Introduction. Cardiorespiratory arrest consists of the sudden, unexpected and potentially reversible interruption of breathing and spontaneous circulation. It represents the most serious extreme of emergency situations with high mortality rates. Objective. To determine the level of knowledge about cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the nursing staff of the core specialties of the "Hospital Nacional de Itauguá" in July 2023. Materials and methods. Descriptive and analytical observational study in which the nursing staff of the core specialties of the "Hospital Nacional of Itauguá"was included in July 2023. The variables studied were sex, age, core specialty and level of knowledge in CPR. The knowledge questionnaire for nurses about cardio-pulmonary resuscitation was used. To compare knowledge between the specialties, the chi-square test was used at a significance level of 0.05. Results.122 nurses were included, 36 from gynecology/obstetrics, 33 from internal medicine, 30 from pediatrics and 23 from general surgery. The mean age was 37.63 ± 7.75 years, 69.7% female and 54.9% from the Central department. The overall average score was 5.55±2.72, significantly (p = 0.001) higher in the specialty of general surgery (6.61±2.39) compared to pediatrics (3.40±2.59). The level of knowledge was insufficient in 56.6% of the participants, 83% in the specialty of pediatrics and 43.5% in general surgery. Conclusion. The level of knowledge of nursing staff about cardiopulmonary resuscitation is poor, especially in the specialty of pediatrics. Key words: knowledge; cardiopulmonary resuscitation; nurses

ABSTRACT

Background: Globally, 296 million people were infected by hepatitis B in 2019, with 1.1 million deaths. Africa is one of the endemic regions. Good knowledge and awareness of hepatitis B remain pivotal to the biosafety of medical students. This study sought to determine the levels of knowledge and awareness of hepatitis B among students of Pamo University of Medical Sciences (PUMS), Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and the predicting factors associated with this knowledge and awareness. The is with the aim of providing recommendations for improving and sustaining biosafety levels for medical and other health-related students of the University. Methodology: The study was a descriptive cross-sectional design conducted amongst 528 randomly selected medical students of PUMS, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Structured questionnaires were interviewer-administered to collect socio-demographic information and participants' responses to questions on knowledge and awareness of hepatitis B. Data were analysed using SPSS version 26.0 and relationships of socio-demographic characteristics and predictive factors with knowledge and awareness of hepatitis B were tested using binary logistic regression analysis with p value for statistical significance set at <0.05. Results: A total of 528 students participated in the study, 202 (38.3%) males and 326 (61.7%) females. Most participants (296, 56.1%) were between 15-19 years of age with mean age of 19 ±2.43 years. The mean (±SD) of participants responses with good knowledge of hepatitis B was 249±121.5 while for good awareness, it was 181±88.3. The percentage average for good knowledge and good awareness was 47.2% and 34.2% respectively, with positive correlation between knowledge and awareness of hepatitis B (r=0.720, p<0.0001). Age was significantly associated with participants percentage average knowledge (OR=0.77, 95% CI 0.70-0.84, p<0.0001) and awareness of hepatitis B (OR=0.84, 95%CI 0.78-0.90, p=0.004). No other factor was significantly associated with knowledge and awareness of hepatitis B except Ijaw tribe (OR=0.4, 95%CI 0.24-0.66, p=0.034) and attendance of Federal Government College (OR=0.4, 95% CI 0.24-0.68, p=0.046). Conclusion: The percentage average good knowledge of 47.2% and awareness of 34.2% for hepatitis B in this study are low, although most participants in the study were between the ages of 15-19 years and in their first and second year of study. This gives room for improvement in knowledge and awareness of hepatitis B with progression in age and year of training. Good knowledge and awareness of hepatitis B are central to the biosafety of medical students. It is recommended that the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) review the current medical school curriculum to increase the teaching of medical and health-related students that will impact more on knowledge and awareness of infectious diseases and infection prevention and control.

ABSTRACT

Objective: to analyze the problematization methodology impact on the knowledge of nursing and medical students about hypodermoclysis. Method: quasi-experimental study conducted with 22 undergraduate nursing and medical students from a public Brazilian higher education institution. The students participated in the educational intervention using the problematization methodology based on the Arch of Maguerez. A previously validated questionnaire was used to determin' the students' knowledge level about hypodermoclysis. This instrument was applied before and after the educational intervention. The results were compared by McNemar's test and Student's t test for paired samples. Results: when comparing the correct answers before and after the intervention, there was a significant increase in 75% of the questions (p<0.05), including theoretical and practical aspects of hypodermoclysis. The mean score on students' self-assessment of the ability to explain (0.9 versus 5.9 points) and perform hypodermoclysis (1.9 versus 5.0) was significantly higher after applying the problematization methodology (p<0.001). Conclusion: the problematization methodology had a positive impact on the students' knowledge about hypodermoclysis. The number of correct answers after the educational intervention was higher than the initial assessment. The problematization methodology can be incorporated into the teaching-learning process of nursing and medical students for teaching procedures such as hypodermoclysis.


Objetivo: analizar el impacto de la metodología de problematización en el conocimiento de estudiantes de enfermería y medicina sobre hipodermoclisis. Método: estudio cuasiexperimental realizado con 22 estudiantes de enfermería y medicina de una institución pública de educación superior brasileña. Los estudiantes participaron de la intervención educativa utilizando la metodología de problematización basada en el Arco de Maguerez. Se utilizó un cuestionario previamente validado para determinar el nivel de conocimiento de los estudiantes sobre la hipodermoclisis. Este instrumento se aplicó antes y después de la intervención educativa. Los resultados se compararon mediante la prueba de McNemar y la prueba t de Student para muestras pareadas. Resultados: al comparar las respuestas correctas antes y después de la intervención, se observó un aumento significativo en el 75% de las preguntas (p<0,05), que incluye aspectos teóricos y prácticos de la hipodermoclisis. El puntaje promedio en la autoevaluación de los estudiantes con respecto a su capacidad para explicar (0,9 versus 5,9 puntos) y realizar hipodermoclisis (1,9 versus 5,0) fue significativamente mayor después de aplicar la metodología de problematización (p<0,001). Conclusión: la metodología de problematización tuvo impacto positivo en el conocimiento de los estudiantes sobre la hipodermoclisis. El número de respuestas correctas luego de la intervención educativa fue mayor que en la evaluación inicial. La metodología de problematización puede incorporarse al proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de estudiantes de enfermería y medicina para enseñar procedimientos como la hipodermoclisis.

ABSTRACT

Osteonecrosis of the jaw associated with bisphosphonate use is a matter of utmost importance in clinical practice for the safe treatment of patients using this medication. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the level of knowledge of dentists who carry out clinical practice about bisphosphonate-associated jaw osteonecrosis. Material and Methods: The methodology used in the present research consisted of a non-probability sampling approach for the selection of participants. To conduct the study, a questionnaire created on the Google Forms platform was sent via Direct on Instagram to the professionals who agreed to participate. The data were sent for analysis, using the frequency for each response, and the professionals were divided into subcategories according to their time of professional practice. Results: Participants were familiar with the purpose of the medication (65%) or had heard of it (34%); regarding the professionals' opinion on their knowledge and practice about bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis a significant percentage (93.24%) responded positively regarding the existence of side effects resulting from the therapeutic use of bisphosphonates and 48.65% self-evaluated their level of knowledge on the subject as insufficient. Conclusion: The study reveals that almost all participating dentists have good knowledge about the effects caused by bisphosphonates, but some of them still do not feel specifically confident about the management and knowledge of jaw osteonecrosis (AU)


A osteonecrose dos maxilares associada ao uso de bisfosfonatos é um assunto de suma importância na prática clínica para o atendimento seguro dos pacientes que fazem uso terapêutico do medicamento. Objetivo: O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o nível de conhecimento de cirurgiões dentistas que realizam atendimento clínico acerca da osteonecrose dos maxilares associada ao uso dos bisfosfonatos. Material e Métodos: A metodologia utilizada na presente pesquisa consistiu em uma abordagem de amostragem não probabilística para a seleção dos participantes. Para conduzir o estudo, enviamos um questionário criado na plataforma Google Forms via Direct no Instagram para os profissionais que concordaram em participar. Os dados foram enviados para análise, usando a frequência para cada resposta, sendo que os profissionais foram divididos em subcategorias por tempo de formação. Resultados: Os participantes estavam familiarizados com a finalidade do medicamento (65%) ou já haviam ouvido falar deles (34%); em relação à opinião dos profissionais sobre seu conhecimento e prática acerca da osteonecrose relacionada aos bisfosfonatos, observou-se que 48,65% autoavaliaram seu nível de conhecimento sobre o assunto como insuficiente e uma parcela expressiva (93,24%) respondeu positivamente em relação à existência de efeitos colaterais decorrentes ao uso terapêutico dos bisfosfonatos. Conclusão: O estudo revela que quase todos os dentistas participantes possuem um bom conhecimento acerca dos efeitos causados pelos bisfosfonatos, mas que parte deles ainda não se sentem seguros especificamente em relação ao manejo e conhecimento da osteonecrose dos maxilares (AU)

Background and Objective@#Colorectal cancer (CRC) has the third highest incidence in the Philippines. Currently, there is a paucity in literature that is focused on the knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of Filipinos regarding CRC screening. This is the first study in the Philippines that describes this. @*Methods@#This is a cross-sectional study that validated a 52-item Filipino questionnaire on the knowledge on colorectal cancer, willingness to undergo CRC screening, and perceived benefits and barriers to fecal occult blood test (FOBT) and colonoscopy. The study enrolled household heads more than 20 years of age residing in both urban and rural communities in the Philippines. @*Results@#The UP-PGH CRC KAP (University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital Colorectal Cancer Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices) and Rawl Questionnaire’s validity and internal consistency were established in a pilot study of 30 respondents. A total of 288 respondents were then enrolled to the main study group with a median age of 54.0. Knowledge scores for prognosis and utility of CRC screening were modest (6.3/12 and 8.4/20, respectively). Perceived benefit scores to FOBT and colonoscopy were high (9.9/12 and 13.9/16, respectively).Median scores to barriers to FOBT and colonoscopy were intermediate (22.5/36 and 35.8/60, respectively). Notably, a vast majority (86.1%) were willing to participate in CRC screening programs initiated by the government, and 46.9% agreed to undergo screening tests even as out-of-pocket expense. @*Conclusion@#The UP-PGH CRC KAP Questionnaire as well as the Filipino translation of the Rawl Questionnaire are reliable and valid tools in extensively assessing the knowledge of Filipinos on CRC and willingness to undergo screening, as well as the benefits of and barriers to FOBT and colonoscopy. Knowledge scores were modest suggesting that directed educational campaigns and awareness programs can aid in increasing awareness about CRC and its screening. Household income and highest educational attainment were significantly positively correlated with knowledge scores, and perceived benefits of and barriers to CRC screening. Scores were generally comparable between urban and rural communities.

ABSTRACT

A vegetação da Caatinga é rica em uma diversidade de espécies vegetais utilizadas para satisfazer as necessidades humana. Muitas dessas espécies são utilizadas para fins terapêuticos por populações. As formas de uso dessas espécies podem ser registradas e resgatadas através de estudos etnobotânicos, os quais contribuem no levantamento das potencialidades dos recursos vegetais, bem como em planos de recuperação e conservação da vegetação. Assim, com base em uma revisão integrativa, o presente trabalho buscou copilar informações sobre como os trabalhos de etnobotânica das plantas medicinais estão sendo desenvolvidos, assim como a respeito das principais espécies e famílias botânicas de potencial medicinal descritas, em levantamentos realizados em áreas caatinga localizadas na região semiárida do Nordeste. Para isso, foram selecionados artigos publicados entre os anos de 2010 e 2022, que abordassem a temática relacionada. Foram considerados trabalhos publicados no formato de artigos originais, disponíveis de forma online, gratuito e completo, em língua portuguesa e inglesa. Esses artigos foram consultados em diferentes bases de dados. A análise integrativa evidenciou as características das publicações, como a concentração de estudos direcionados aos estados da Bahia, Paraíba e Pernambuco, bem como demonstrou uma rica diversidade de plantas medicinais que são utilizadas pela população no semiárido nordestino, destacando-se, principalmente, os saberes tradicionais sobre as suas formas de uso e propriedades terapêuticas.


The Caatinga vegetation is rich in a diversity of plant species used to satisfy human needs. Many of these species are used for therapeutic purposes by populations. The forms of use of these species can be registered and rescued through ethnobotanical studies, which contribute to the survey of the potential of plant resources, as well as plans for the recovery and conservation of vegetation. Thus, based on an integrative review, the present work sought to compile information on how ethnobotany works on medicinal plants are being developed, as well as on the main species and botanical families with medicinal potential described, in surveys carried out in caatinga areas located in the semi-arid region of the Northeast. For this, articles published between the years 2010 and 2022 that addressed the related theme were selected. Works published in the format of original articles, available online, free and complete, in Portuguese and English, were considered. These articles were consulted in different databases. The integrative analysis showed the characteristics of the publications, such as the concentration of studies directed to the states of Bahia, Paraíba and Pernambuco, as well as demonstrating a rich diversity of medicinal plants that are used by the population in the northeastern semi-arid region, highlighting, mainly, the knowledge traditional practices about their forms of use and therapeutic properties.


La vegetación de la Caatinga es rica en una diversidad de especies vegetales utilizadas para satisfacer las necesidades humanas. Muchas de estas especies son utilizadas con fines terapéuticos por las poblaciones. Las formas de uso de estas especies pueden ser registradas y rescatadas a través de estudios etnobotánicos, que contribuyen al levantamiento del potencial de los recursos vegetales, así como a los planes de recuperación y conservación de la vegetación. Así, a partir de una revisión integradora, el presente trabajo buscó recopilar información sobre cómo se están desarrollando los trabajos etnobotánicos sobre plantas medicinales, así como sobre las principales especies y familias botánicas con potencial medicinal descritas, en relevamientos realizados en áreas de caatinga ubicadas en la región semiárida del Nordeste. Para ello, se seleccionaron artículos publicados entre los años 2010 y 2022 que abordaran la temática relacionada. Se consideraron trabajos publicados en formato de artículos originales, disponibles en línea, gratuitos y completos, en portugués e inglés. Estos artículos fueron consultados en diferentes bases de datos. El análisis integrador mostró las características de las publicaciones, como la concentración de estudios dirigidos a los estados de Bahía, Paraíba y Pernambuco, además de demostrar una rica diversidad de plantas medicinales que son utilizadas por la población de la región semiárida del nordeste, destacándose, principalmente, los conocimientos tradicionales sobre sus formas de uso y propiedades terapéuticas.

Objetivo:Investigar o conhecimento de estudantes de Enfermagem sobre estomias intestinais de eliminação. Método: Estudo descritivo, exploratório, analítico, com abordagem quantitativa, realizado em instituição de ensino superior pública do Piauí, com 115 estudantes de Enfermagem entre o oitavo e o 10º período do curso. A coleta foi realizada por meio de questionário online composto de dois instrumentos, um sobre o perfil sociodemográfico e escolar dos estudantes, e o outro, acerca do conhecimento sobre estomias intestinais de eliminação. A análise dos dados deu-se por meio de análises descritivas (frequências absolutas e relativas, médias e desvio padrão) e inferenciais, a fim de verificar associação entre as variáveis, com os testes χ2 e exato de Fisher. Resultados: A maioria dos estudantes de Enfermagem possui déficit quanto aos aspectos relacionados às assistências pré-operatória e pós-operatória imediata e mediata. Observou-se diferença significativamente estatística na variável índice de rendimento acadêmico, e viu-se que os estudantes com rendimento acadêmico superior a 9 obtiveram maior número de acertos em comparação aos demais. Conclusão: Existem lacunas de conhecimento entre os estudantes de Enfermagem, sobretudo na assistência de enfermagem nos cuidados pré-operatório e no pós-operatório imediato e mediato, o que por sua vez pode comprometer a qualidade da assistência prestada.


Objective:To investigate the knowledge of nursing students about intestinal elimination stomas. Method: Descriptive, exploratory, analytical study, with a quantitative approach, carried out in a public higher education institution in Piauí, Brazil, with 115 nursing students between the eighth and the tenth period of the course. The data collection was carried out through an online questionnaire composed of two instruments, one about the sociodemographic and school profile of the students, and the other about knowledge on intestinal ostomies for elimination. Data analysis was carried out through descriptive analysis (absolute and relative frequencies, means and standard deviation) and inferential analysis, in order to verify association between variables, with χ2and Fisher's exact tests. Results: Most nursing students have a deficit regarding aspects related to preoperative and immediate and mediate postoperative care. There was a statistically significant difference in the academic performance index variable, and it was observed that students with academic performance greater than 9 obtained a higher number of correct answers compared to the others. Conclusion: There are knowledge gaps among nursing students, especially in nursing care in preoperative care, and in the immediate and mediate postoperative period, which in turn can compromise the quality of care provided.

Método: Estudio descriptivo-exploratorio, analítico, con abordaje cuantitativo, realizado en una Institución de Enseñanza Superior (IES) pública de Piauí, con 115 estudiantes de enfermería, entre el octavo y décimo período del curso. La recolección se realizó a través de un cuestionario en línea compuesto por dos instrumentos, uno sobre el perfil sociodemográfico y escolar de los estudiantes, y otro, un instrumento validado sobre conocimientos sobre ostomías intestinales para eliminación. El análisis de los datos se realizó mediante análisis descriptivo (frecuencias absolutas y relativas, medias y desviación estándar) e inferencial, con el fin de verificar la asociación entre las variables, con las pruebas Chi-cuadrado y exacta de Fisher. Resultados: La mayoría de los estudiantes de enfermería presentan un déficit en los aspectos relacionados con los cuidados preoperatorios y postoperatorios inmediatos y medios. Hubo diferencia estadísticamente significativa en la variable índice de rendimiento académico, y se observó que los estudiantes con rendimiento académico superior a 9,0 obtuvieron mayor número de respuestas correctas en comparación con los demás. Conclusión: Existen lagunas de conocimiento entre los estudiantes de enfermería, especialmente en el cuidado de enfermería en el preoperatorio, y en el postoperatorio inmediato y mediato, lo que a su vez puede comprometer la calidad de la atención prestada.

Objetivo: Identificar as principais dificuldades durante o tratamento e pós-alta de pacientes com hanseníase atendidos na Atenção Secundária em Teresina-Piauí e seu perfil epidemiológico. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo transversal, quantitativo, que identificou necessidades e levantou dados de pacientes em tratamento de hanseníase em um serviço de referência localizado em Teresina-Piauí. Resultados: Na amostra, observou-se predomínio de pacientes do sexo masculino (58,5%), casados ou em união estável (54,7%), com ensino fundamental completo (62,3%), renda de 1 a 2 salários mínimos (66,0%) e residentes em Teresina-Piauí (90,6%). A idade média dos pacientes foi 53 anos. 9,4% abandonaram o tratamento. No pós-alta, 90,6% dos pacientes apresentaram algum tipo de sequela. Notou-se que a ausência de conhecimento sobre a hanseníase retardou o acesso ao sistema de saúde. Verificou-se associação significativa entre a variável presença de sequela e alteração de sensibilidade (p=0,014). Os relatos de preconceito foram mais frequentes durante o tratamento (41,5%), em relação ao pós-alta (15,1%). Conclusão: A hanseníase ainda é uma doença negligenciada, estigmatizada e de difícil diagnóstico, sendo necessário maiores investimentos em políticas públicas para a difusão de conhecimentos sobre a doença. Objective: To identify the main difficulties and the epidemiological profile during treatment and post-discharge in patients with leprosy treated at the Secondary Care level in Teresina-Piauí.Methods: This is a cross-sectional and quantitative study that identified needs and surveyed data from patients undergoing leprosy treatment in a reference service located in Teresina-Piauí.Results: In the sample, there was predominance of male patients (58.5%), married or in a stable union (54.7%), with complete Elementary School (62.3%), incomes of 1 to 2 minimum wages (66.0%) and residents of Teresina-Piauí (90.6%). The mean age of the patients was 53years old. 9.4% abandoned the treatment. 90.6% of the patients presented some type of sequelae post-discharge. It was noticed that lack of knowledge about leprosy delayed access to the health system. A significant association was verified between the "presence of sequelae" variable and change in sensitivity (p = 0.014). The reports about prejudice were more frequent during the treatment (41.5%) than in the post-discharge period(15.1%). Conclusion: Leprosy is still a neglected, stigmatized and difficult to diagnose disease, with a need for greater investments in public policies to disseminate knowledge about the disease. ABSTRACT

Las humanidades en salud y en particular sus enfoques críticos, son indispensables para fortalecer la investigación orientada a producir conocimiento respecto al estudio de los fenómenos relacionados con la salud, la enfermedad y la muerte desde sus dimensiones social, antropológica, histórica, ética y política. En este sentido, surge la necesidad de promover métodos de investigación a partir del planteamiento de preguntas sobre las experiencias de las personas que viven procesos de salud, enfermedad y muerte. Estas preguntas deben realizarse desde epistemologías interdisciplinarias que ayuden en la comprensión de dichas experiencias y a traducir el conocimiento derivado de la investigación en acciones centradas en las personas, con pertinencia social, cultural y ética. La intención es impulsar el diseño, implementación, evaluación y publicación de la Investigación de Humanidades en Salud, mediante el fortalecimiento de redes de investigación en salud interdisciplinar e interprofesional, con el propósito de fundamentar acciones efectivas en el marco del derecho de la población en la atención con equidad e inclusión. The humanities in health, and particularly their critical approaches, are indispensable for strengthening research aimed at producing knowledge regarding the study of phenomena related to health, illness, and death from their social, anthropological, historical, ethical, and political dimensions. In this sense, we need to promote research methods and pose questions about the experiences of individuals undergoing processes of health, illness, and death. These questions should be approached from interdisciplinary epistemologies that aid in the understanding of such experiences and in translating the knowledge derived from research into people-centered actions, with social, cultural, and ethical relevance. The intention is to drive the design, implementation, evaluation, and publication of Health Humanities Research by strengthening interdisciplinary and interprofessional health research networks, with the purpose of substantiating effective actions within the framework of the population's right to equitable and inclusive care. La muerte súbita de un lactante puede ser de causa explicada, indeterminada ­si no se investigó en forma suficiente­ o inexplicada ­cuando una investigación completa no permite determinar su causa­. La muerte súbita inexplicada, o síndrome de muerte súbita infantil, afecta en particular a las poblaciones más vulnerables. La muerte de estos niños que nacen con alteraciones del neurodesarrollo es la parte visible de una problemática que se origina en el embarazo. Disminuir la cantidad de niños vulnerables depende de políticas de salud y, sobre todo, de lograr mejorar las condiciones de vida de la población. Son acciones a largo plazo. Conocer a fondo los factores de riesgo que pueden desencadenar la muerte inesperada es lo que se puede hacer ya. La actualización de las recomendaciones sobre sueño seguro refleja nuevos conocimientos basados en la evidencia científica y un enfoque integral de los aspectos socioculturales relacionados con esta problemática.


Sudden unexpected infant death may be explained, cause by an etiology, unexplained but insufficiently investigated, or unexplained when a full investigation fails to determine the cause. Unexplained sudden death in infancy or sudden infant death syndrome particularly affects the most vulnerable populations. The death of these children who are born with alterations in their neurodevelopment is the visible part of a problem that originates in pregnancy. Reducing the number of vulnerable children depends on health policies and, above all, on improving the living conditions of the population. These are long-term actions. Knowing in depth the risk factors that can trigger unexpected death is what can be done now. The update of the recommendations on safe sleep reflects new knowledge based on scientific evidence and a comprehensive approach to the sociocultural aspects related to this problem.

ABSTRACT

Investigaciones de las últimas décadas revelaron que un ambiente adverso en la etapa de desarrollo puede producir una mayor susceptibilidad hacia fenotipos relacionados con enfermedad cardiovascular, diabetes, hipertensión, trastornos neuroconductuales y otras enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles. Estas enfermedades, cuyo aumento ocurre especialmente en países con alta vulnerabilidad social, provocan muertes prematuras y constituyen la primera causa de muerte en la vida adulta, además de un elevado costo para la salud pública. Consciente de la necesidad de prevenir estas enfermedades desde los primeros mil días de vida, la Sociedad Argentina de Pediatría creó la Subcomisión DOHaD y formuló una declaración para la prevención de enfermedades no transmisibles a la que adhirieron otros países de Latinoamérica. La aplicación de las estrategias declaradas con acciones interdisciplinarias e intersectoriales sostenidas en el tiempo contribuirá a construir salud, a disminuir la carga de enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles y al mayor bienestar y productividad para los pueblos.


Research in recent decades has revealed that an adverse environment in the developmental stage can produce a greater susceptibility to phenotypes related to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, or neurobehavioral disorders, among other chronic noncommunicable diseases. These diseases, whose tendency is increasing especially in countries with high social vulnerability, cause premature deaths and constitute the first cause of death in adult life as well as a great cost to public health. Aware of the need to prevent these diseases from the first thousand days of life, the Sociedad Argentina de Pediatría created the DOHaD Committee and formulated a statement for the prevention of NCDs, to which Latin American countries also adhered. We believe that the application of the declared strategies with interdisciplinary and intersectoral actions sustained over time will contribute to building health, reducing the burden of NCDs, and to greater wellbeing and productivity for the people

Introducción: La interdisciplinariedad es el resultado de la puesta en práctica de varias disciplinas, que permite afrontar el objeto de estudio de modo integral y promover el desarrollo de nuevas intervenciones para la solución de problemas. En el campo de la medicina involucra la contribución de diversas disciplinas y la participación de especialistas de diversas áreas que integra el pensamiento de diferentes profesiones o tecnologías para lograr un resultado común. Objetivos: Exponer una visión integral acerca de cómo la interdisciplinariedad ha permitido el desarrollado de la cirugía mínimamente invasiva en la especialidad de urología. Métodos: Se realizó una revisión sistemática y crítica de artículos reportados sobre la interdisciplinariedad en el campo de la cirugía mínimo invasiva, en idioma español e inglés, desde 2005 hasta 2022, en sitios Web (PubMed, SciELO, MedLine, Lilacs y Science Direct. Se referenciaron 22 artículos de los consultados. Conclusiones: Las evidencias reportadas y consultadas ofrecen una visión integral de las diversas intervenciones que certifican la interdisciplinariedad en el campo de la cirugía urológica mínimamente invasiva, que fortalece el marco curricular de la especialidad y permite alcanzar un nivel de profesionalidad significativo, evidenciado en un excelente desempeño profesional(AU)


Introduction: Interdisciplinarity results from implementing several disciplines, allowing to address the object of study comprehensively, as well as promote the development of new interventions to solve problems. In the field of medicine, it involves the contribution of various disciplines and the participation of specialists from different areas, integrating the thinking from different professions or technologies to achieve a common result. Objectives: To present a comprehensive perspective of how interdisciplinarity has allowed the development of minimally invasive surgery in the specialty of urology. Methods: A systematic and critical review was carried out with reported articles on interdisciplinarity in the field of minimally invasive surgery, in Spanish and English, from 2005 to 2022, in Web sites (PubMed, SciELO, MedLine, Lilacs and Science Direct). Twenty-two of the consulted articles were referenced. Conclusions: The reported and consulted evidence offers a comprehensive perspective of the various interventions certifying interdisciplinarity in the field of minimally invasive urologic surgery, which strengthens the curricular framework of the specialty and allows to achieve a significant level of professionalism, evidenced through excellent professional performance(AU)

Introducción: La cobertura de vacunación contra el virus del papiloma humano no se ha realizado en la totalidad de la población, existen factores que interfieren en que los padres de las adolescentes acepten su aplicación. Objetivo: Relacionar el conocimiento sobre el virus del papiloma humano, el conocimiento sobre la vacuna contra el virus, las creencias sobre la vacuna con la aceptabilidad de la vacuna por los padres de las adolescentes de 9-12 años escolarizadas en Chihuahua, México.Materiales y Métodos: Estudio de tipo descriptivo, correlacional y transversal, la muestra fue de tipo censal, se conformó por 145 padres de niñas entre 9 a 12 años inscritas en tres primarias públicas ubicadas en una zona urbana de Chihuahua, México. Resultados: El conocimiento sobre el virus del papiloma humano se relacionó con la aceptabilidad de la vacuna (p < 0,009), de igual manera con el conocimiento acerca de la vacuna del virus del papiloma humano (p < 0,030) mientras que las creencias sobre el VPH y la vacuna no se relacionaron (p < 0, 747). Discusión: Los resultados coinciden con literatura previa en que el conocimiento sobre el virus y su vacuna es bajo, sin embargo, en este estudio las puntuaciones fueron más bajas. Mientras que la aceptabilidad de la vacuna contra el VPH tiende a ser alta al igual que estudios previos. Conclusiones: El conocimiento sobre el virus del papiloma humano y la vacuna se relacionaron con la aceptabilidad de los padres para aplicar la vacuna a sus hijas.


Introduction: Human papillomavirus vaccination coverage has not been achieved in the general population. There are factors that interfere with the acceptance of the vaccine by the parents of adolescent girls. Objective: To correlate knowledge of human papillomavirus, knowledge of the vaccine against the virus, and beliefs about the vaccine with vaccine acceptance among parents of adolescent girls aged 9-12 years in Chihuahua, Mexico. Materials and Methods: A descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional study was conducted with a census sample of 145 parents of girls between the ages of 9 and 12 enrolled in three public elementary schools in an urban area of Chihuahua, Mexico. Results: Knowledge of human papillomavirus was related to vaccine acceptance (p < 0.009), as was knowledge of the human papillomavirus vaccine (p < 0.030). In contrast, beliefs about HPV and the vaccine were not related (p < 0.747). Discussion: The results are consistent with previous literature in that knowledge of the virus and its vaccine is low, but the scores were lower in this study. In contrast, HPV vaccine acceptance tends to be high, as in previous studies. Conclusions: Knowledge about human papillomavirus and the vaccine was associated with parental acceptance of giving it to their daughters.

Objetivo: Relacionar o conhecimento sobre o papilomavírus humano, o conhecimento sobre a vacina contra o vírus, as crenças sobre a vacina com a aceitabilidade da vacina pelos pais de meninas adolescentes de 9 a 12 anos que frequentam a escola em Chihuahua, México. Materiais e Métodos: Estudo descritivo, correlacional e transversal, a amostra foi do tipo censitária, composta por 145 pais de meninas entre 9 e 12 anos matriculadas em três escolas primárias públicas localizadas em uma área urbana de Chihuahua, México. Resultados: O conhecimento sobre o papilomavírus humano esteve relacionado com a aceitabilidade da vacina (p < 0,009), da mesma forma com o conhecimento sobre a vacina contra o papilomavírus humano (p < 0,030), enquanto as crenças sobre o HPV e a vacina não foram relacionadas (p < 0,747). Discussão: Os resultados coincidem com a literatura anterior na medida em que o conhecimento sobre o vírus e sua vacina é baixo, porém, neste estudo as pontuações foram inferiores. Embora a aceitabilidade da vacina contra o HPV tenda a ser elevada como em estudos anteriores. Conclusões: O conhecimento sobre o papilomavírus humano e a vacina esteve relacionado à aceitabilidade dos pais em aplicar a vacina em suas filhas.

Introducción: El cambio climático constituye un peligro inminente para la salud humana y ambiental global. Objetivo: Evaluar la efectividad de un programa educativo para modificar conocimientos sobre cambio climático en estudiantes de medicina. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio cuasiexperimental de intervención educativa. El universo estuvo constituido por 52 estudiantes de medicina del Policlínico Docente Manuel González Díaz, en Bahía Honda, provincia Artemisa, en el período de enero a diciembre de 2022; y la muestra, por 37 estudiantes de medicina de tercero a quinto año que dieron su consentimiento para participar en la investigación. Se aplicó un cuestionario inicial para evaluar conocimientos sobre el tema, se identificaron las necesidades de aprendizaje y, posteriormente, se diseñó el programa educativo por seis semanas. Finalmente, se evaluó su impacto. Se utilizó la estadística descriptiva e inferencial para realizar la tabulación de datos. Resultados: La mayoría de los estudiantes antes de la intervención poseían bajos conocimientos sobre la temática, tenían un concepto restringido sobre cambio climático, sus consecuencias y a quiénes impactará mayormente. Algunos desconocían las políticas nacionales y los planes estratégicos que actualmente se están implementando en el país. Aunque la mayoría tenía un sentido de preocupación y de importancia ante este tema, mostraron desconocimiento en las acciones que de alguna manera realizaban para cuidar el medio ambiente. Conclusiones: El programa educativo implementado logró corregir las deficiencias. Una vez más se puso de manifiesto la significación de la labor educativa para promover salud(AU)


Introduction: Climate change is an impending danger to human and global environmental health. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of an educational program to modify knowledge about climate change in medical students. Methods: A quasiexperimental study of educational intervention was conducted. The study universe was made up of 52 medical students from Policlínico Docente Manuel González Díaz, in Bahía Honda Municipality, Artemisa province, in the period from January to December 2022. The sample consisted of 37 medical students from third to fifth academic years who gave their consent to participate in the research. An initial questionnaire was applied to assess knowledge on the subject, their learning needs were identified and, subsequently, the educational program was designed to be applied in six weeks. Finally, its impact was assessed. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data tabulation. Results: Most of the students, before the intervention, had little knowledge about the subject, had a restricted concept of climate change, its consequences and who will be most impacted by it. Some were unaware of the national policies and strategic plans currently being implemented in the country. Although most of the respondents had a sense of concern and importance with respect to this issue, they showed lack of knowledge regarding the actions that they somehow did to care for the environment. Conclusions: The implemented educational program was successful in correcting the deficiencies. Once again, the significance of the educational work to promote health became evident(AU)

A translação do conhecimento (TC) visa à utilização prática dos resultados de pesquisas científicas e o monitoramento dos benefícios causados à saúde da população. O objetivo deste estudo foi instrumentalizar a instância de suporte à TC por meio da identificação dos requisitos funcionais de uma proposta de plataforma tecnológica. Fundamentando-se no Design Science Research, o estudo se enquadra como uma pesquisa qualitativa procurando resolver um problema prático num contexto específico. Por meio de um grupo focal confirmatório com profissionais e pesquisadores de um instituto de ciência e tecnologia em saúde, foram identificadas 11 categorias de requisitos funcionais: Órgãos Regulatórios, Infraestrutura de Implementação, Banco de Dados, Capacitações em TC, Eventos de TC, Perfil de Consultas, Portal TC, Avaliação de Iniciativas, Apoio Institucional, Ferramenta de Busca Parametrizada e Prospecção de Projetos de Pesquisa. A modelagem da proposta contemplou as sugestões de funcionalidades para instrumentalizar o processo de aplicação prática dos conhecimentos decorrentes das pesquisas


Knowledge translation (KT) aims at the practical use of scientific research results and the monitoring of the benefits caused to the population's health. The objective of this study was to instrumentalize the TC support instance by identifying the functional requirements of a proposed technological platform. Based on Design Science Research, the study is framed as qualitative research seeking to solve a practical problem in a specific context. Through a confirmatory focus group with professionals and researchers from a health science and technology institute, 11 categories of functional requirements were identified: Regulatory Bodies, Implementation Infrastructure, Database, Capacity Building, KT Events, Query Profile, KT Portal, Initiative Evaluation, Institutional Support, Parameterized Search Tool, and Research Project Prospecting. The modeling of the proposal contemplated the suggestions of functionalities to instrumentalize the process of the practical application of the knowledge resulting from the research


La traslación del conocimiento (TC) tiene como objetivo el uso práctico de los resultados de la investigación científica y el seguimiento de los beneficios causados a la salud de la población. El objetivo de este estudio fue instrumentalizar la instancia de apoyo a la TC a través de la identificación de requisitos funcionales de una plataforma tecnológica propuesta. Basado en Design Science Research, el estudio se enmarca como una investigación cualitativa que busca resolver un problema práctico en un contexto específico. A través de un grupo focal confirmatorio con profesionales e investigadores de un instituto de ciencia y tecnología de la salud, se identificaron 11 categorías de requisitos funcionales: Órganos Reguladores, Infraestructura de Implementación, Base de Datos, Capacitación, Eventos de TC, Perfil de Consulta, Portal de TC, Evaluación de Iniciativas, Apoyo Institucional, Herramienta de Búsqueda Parametrizada y Prospección de Proyectos de Investigación. Introducción: La Maestría en Investigación en Aterosclerosis constituye una propuesta académica para elevar la calidad de la formación en salud sobre la base de métodos de investigación y aterosclerosis. Evaluar el impacto de su formación científica, evidenciará la relación causa-efecto entre la acción de superación y el comportamiento en el desempeño. Existen criterios de medida que sirven para hacerlo. Este trabajo empleó la publicación de artículos científicos. Objetivo: Evaluar el impacto de la maestría mediante el efecto producido sobre el desempeño investigativo de los graduados, a través de sus publicaciones en revistas científicas. Métodos: Estudio bibliométrico, descriptivo y retrospectivo. Se buscaron publicaciones de alumnos de tres ediciones en Google Académico. El criterio de desempeño investigativo evaluado fue el de artículos publicados. Se midieron las publicaciones de artículos científicos en cuanto a cantidad, calidad y extensión, en dos etapas; se compararon para medir impacto. Resultados: Se incrementaron significativamente los artículos originales y las revisiones bibliográficas en la segunda etapa. Se identificaron graduados más productivos, más citados, líderes; se publicó más en revistas grupo I. Las palabras clave estaban relacionadas con la aterosclerosis; se hallaron diferentes tipos de colaboración. Conclusiones: El incremento de publicaciones, especialmente artículos científicos con mayor liderazgo y colaboración en los últimos años, de citas y predominio en bases de datos internacionales, fueron muestra de productividad, visibilidad e impacto de la actividad científica(AU)


Introduction: The master's degree in Atherosclerosis Research is an academic proposal to raise the quality of health training based on research methods and atherosclerosis. To assess the impact of scientific training will show the cause-effect relationship between improvement action and performance behavior. There are measurement criteria that serve to this purpose. This work used the publication of scientific articles. Objective: To assess the impact of the master's degree through the effect produced on the research performance of graduates, through their publications in scientific journals. Methods: A descriptive and retrospective bibliometric study was carried out, searching, in Google Scholar, for publications by students from three editions. The assessed research performance criterion was the number of published articles. Publications of scientific articles were measured in terms of quantity, quality and length, in two stages; they were compared to measure impact. Results: Original articles and bibliographic reviews increased significantly in the second stage. More productive and more cited leading graduates were identified; more articles were published in group I journals. The keywords were related to atherosclerosis; different types of collaboration were found. Conclusions: The increase in publications, especially scientific articles with higher leadership and collaboration in recent years, as well as in citations and the predominance of representativeness in international databases, evidenced productivity, visibility and impact of the scientific activity(AU)

El conocimiento en las sociedades digitalizadas se torna aceleradamente efímero, obsolescente y competitivo. Así, los roles de sus académicos se ven sometidos a una existencia precaria; se esfuerzan por acumular capital semiótico a través de factores de impacto ­fácilmente cuantificables­ que desdibujan el valor cualitativo de lo cognitivo. Es en esta trama que terminan inscribiéndose las universidades del siglo XXI; la mayéutica de Akádêmos comienza a desdibujarse tras la competitividad burocrático-empresarial del capitalismo cognitivo


Knowledge in digitized societies rapidly becomes ephemeral, obsolescent and competitive. Thus, the roles of its academics are subjected to a precarious existence; they strive to accumulate semiotic capital through impact factors ­ easily quantifiable ­ that blur the qualitative value of the cognitive. It is in this plot that the universities of the XXI century end up registering; Akádêmos's maieutics begins to blur behind the bureaucratic-business competitiveness of cognitive capitalism

El término pediatría surge del griego paidos (niño) e iatrea (curación). Inicialmente, la pediatría fue descrita como una de las ramas independientes de la medicina en Europa Central durante la segunda mitad del siglo XIX; se independizó de áreas como la obstetricia y la medicina interna de forma progresiva. Fue descrita por primera vez en 1722 en el tratado Paedojatreja práctica por el profesor de anatomía y teoría médica Theodor Zwinger de la Universidad de Basileam. Los escritos más antiguos de los que se tiene conocimiento de enfermedades en población pediátrica datan de 2100 a. de C., en donde primaba el componente mágico-religioso (1). En Colombia, sus primeros reportes inician en 1868 con el inicio de la época denominada «Segunda etapa de la medicina colombiana¼, tras la fundación de la Universidad de los Estados Unidos de Colombia en Bogotá, en donde se implementa la cátedra de obstetricia y patología especial de las mujeres y niños, por el médico y presidente Santos Acosta. Posteriormente, se separan las asignaturas de obstetricia y patología especial de las mujeres, originándose la cátedra opcional de patología e higiene de la infancia. En 1891, José Ignacio Barberi, bogotano graduado de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia en el año 1881, se convierte en el primer especialista en dictar la asignatura Clínica infantil. En 1911, con la cátedra de pediatría en la Universidad de Antioquia, nace la especialidad en ese departamento, y el 27 de julio de 1917 se funda la Sociedad Colombiana de Pediatría, la cual propende por el bienestar de los niños y adolescentes, su familia y la sociedad, para el desarrollo de la pediatría como disciplina del hombre (2,3).


The term pediatrics comes from the Greek paidos (child) and iatrike (medicine). Initially, pediatrics was described as one of the independent branches of medicine in Central Europe during the second half of the 19th century. It progressively became independent from areas such as obstetrics and internal medicine. It was first described in 1722 in the treatise Paedojatreja práctica by the professor of anatomy and medical theory Theodor Zwinger of the University of Basel. The oldest known works on diseases in the pediatric population date back to 2100 B.C., in which the magical-religious component was predominant (1). In Colombia, its first reports begin in 1868 with the start of the period called the "Second stage of Colombian medicine". After the foundation of the Universidad de los Estados Unidos de Colombia in Bogotá. The subject of obstetrics and special pathology of women and children was implemented by physician and President Santos Acosta. Em 1891, José Ignacio Barberi, natural de Bogotá, formado pela Universidade Nacional da Colômbia em 1881, tornou-se o primeiro especialista a lecionar a disciplina de Clínica Infantil. Em 1911, com a cátedra de pediatria da Universidade de Antioquia, nasceu a especialidade nesse departamento e, em 27 de julho de 1917, foi fundada a Sociedade Colombiana de Pediatria, que visa o bem-estar de crianças e adolescentes, suas famílias e a sociedade, para o desenvolvimento da pediatria como disciplina humana (2,3).

ABSTRACT

The imagination, bravery, and audacity that many nurses have shown throughout the history of our profession lead to the recognition of nursing as a discipline, profession, and science. For maintaining it, the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing ­Sigma­ (1) and other associated organizations promote the science-guided exercise of the practice through the creation and transfer of knowledge, emphasizing the three elements that nurture, legitimize, consolidate, and guarantee disciplinary autonomy: theory, research, and practice. Sigma, in its presidential call 2022-2023, invited nurses to be bold and contribute to the development of nursing knowledge.


La imaginación, valentía y audacia que muchas enfermeras han mostrado a lo largo de la historia de nuestra profesión llevaron a que hoy en día se reconozca a la enfermería como disciplina, profesión y ciencia. Para mantener este reconocimiento, la Sociedad Internacional de Honor de la Enfermería ­Sigma­ y organizaciones asociadas promueven el ejercicio de la práctica guiado por la ciencia a través de la creación y la traslación de conocimientos, haciendo énfasis en los tres elementos que nutren, legitiman, consolidan y garantizan la autonomía disciplinar: la teoría, la investigación y la práctica. Sigma, en su llamado presidencial 2022-2023, invita a las enfermeras de la práctica a que sean audaces y contribuyan al desarrollo del conocimiento de enfermería.


A imaginação, a coragem e a audácia que muitos profissionais de enfermagem demonstraram ao longo da história da nossa profissão fizeram com que a enfermagem fosse hoje reconhecida como disciplina, profissão e ciência. Para manter este reconhecimento, a International Nursing Honor Society (Sigma) e as organizações associadas promovem o exercício da prática guiada pela ciência através da criação e transferência de conhecimento, enfatizando os três elementos que nutrem, legitimam, consolidam e garantem a autonomia disciplinar: teoria, pesquisa e prática.
